삼송 아이들을 학교에 보낼 수 있기를 기도합니다.

We are praying that the children of Samson Orphanage can go to school.

삼송고아원에서 학교에 다니는 아이들이 32명입니다. 아이들 새 학년 학교 준비를 위해 교복을 맞춰야 한다고 연락이 왔습니다. 지난주에 32명의 사이즈를 다 재고 나온 교복 견적이 163,000굴드입니다. 미화 1,253불입니다. 학교 등록금의 절반은 내야 우선 등록이 되는데 그 비용이 $2,432입니다.

여기에 아이들 신발, 가방 등이 $1,403, 교과서가 $1,309입니다. 하반기 등록금을 제외하고도 당장 학교에 갈 준비를 위해 $6,397을 마련해야 합니다. 아이 한 명당 $200불이 드는 것입니다.

어렵고 힘들지만, 아이들 학업을 중단할 수 없습니다. 갱들이 총을 쏠 때 학교가 가끔 문을 닫기는 해도, 골목길을 돌아 아이들이 부지런히 학교에 다녔습니다. 가끔 무섭기는 해도, 해가 쨍쨍한 낮에 아무것도 할 것이 없는 고아원에 그냥 머물 수는 없습니다.

주님의 사랑 안에서 꿈을 계속 꾸고, 고난의 땅에서 아이들의 푸른 꿈이 큰 나무가 되는 날을 간절히 소망하며, 아이들을 가르치는 일이 멈추지 않기를 기도하고 있습니다. 아이들을 올해도 학교에 보내고 가르쳐서 앞날을 기대할 수 있도록 기도해주시고 사랑의 손을 내밀어 주시길 부탁드립니다.

32 children from Samson Orphanage attend school. We received a request to prepare school uniforms for the new academic year. Last week, all 32 children were measured, and the total cost for uniforms came out to 163,000 gourdes, which is $1,253. To secure their enrollment, half of the school registration fee must also be paid, which amounts to $2,432.

     Additionally, shoes and school bags will cost $1,403, and textbooks will cost $1,309. Excluding the second semester’s tuition, we need $6,397 immediately to prepare the children for school. That comes out to $200 per child.

     It is difficult and burdensome, but we cannot allow the children’s education to be interrupted. Although schools sometimes close when gangs are shooting, the children still make their way through side streets to attend classes diligently. At times, it is frightening, but they cannot simply remain in the orphanage all day with nothing to do, even under the blazing sun.

     We continue to pray that the children may keep dreaming in the love of the Lord, and that one day their bright dreams will grow into strong trees in this land of hardship. Please pray with us that their education will not be stopped, and extend your loving hands so that the children can go to school this year, learn, and have hope for their future.
